Palin Comes Out Swinging

Tue Oct 7, 10:33 AM ET

Washington (The Weekly Standard) Vol. 014, Issue 05 - 10/13/2008 - Sarah Palin's scintillating success in last week's vice presidential debate with Joe Biden has made her an enormous asset (again) to John McCain's bid for the presidency. Now McCain must decide how to maximize her role in the campaign. Anything short of bringing her front and center makes no sense.

Washington (The Weekly Standard) Vol. 014, Issue 05 - 10/13/2008 - The odds are against John McCain and Sarah Palin winning this election. It's not easy to make up a 6-point deficit in the last four weeks. But it can be done.

  • Comeback Fri Oct 3, 1:53 AM ET

Washington (The Daily Standard) - The moment when Sarah Palin knew she was winning last night's debate with her vice presidential opponent Joe Biden came after the subject had turned to nuclear weapons. Palin had talked about nukes as a deterrent and said it was important to keep them out of the hands of dictators who are enemies of America. • Palin the Pragmatic Fri Sep 19, 2:27 PM ET

Washington (The Weekly Standard) Vol. 014, Issue 02 - 9/22/2008 - Conservatives are rushing to crown Alaska governor Sarah Palin as the new Ronald Reagan. And indeed there are similarities. Like Reagan, Palin has a dazzling star quality and an appeal to voters outside the conservative orbit. But there's another likeness to Reagan that conservatives may find a bit off-putting. She governs as a pragmatic conservative--with heavy emphasis on the pragmatic.

  • The Bonfire of the Hypocrisies Thu Sep 18, 1:09 PM ET

Washington (The Weekly Standard) Vol. 014, Issue 02 - 9/22/2008 - Historians looking back on these tumultuous times will no doubt argue over the precise date on which the Age of Palin began. Her speech at the Republican National Convention on September 3 certainly catapulted her to national renown. But there is a good case to be made for her introductory appearance in Dayton, Ohio, five days before.
